Michael started his career as a graphic designer and founded Boulogne Jonkers Design immediately after graduating from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. His company focusses on design and communication for a wide range of clients including businesses, multinational companies, public sector and non-profit organisations. Photography has always been one of his true passions which began during his time at the Academy.

The recurring theme in his work is people living in harmony with their urban environment. Michael captures refined plays of colour and light; seemingly pre-arranged compositions. This tension between coincidence and control make his photographs very meaningful and easy to identify with. Michael lives in the Netherlands, a country that is known for its tolerance and freedom, but he truly feels at home in world cities that are a melting pot of many different cultures.
